KIA EV9 Swipes Seven-Seater Success at Parkers New Car Awards

Kia EV9 named ‘Best Seven-Seater Car’ for 2025

The Kia EV9 has been named ‘Best Seven-Seater Car’ for 2025 at the annual Parkers New Car Awards.

Now in its eighth year, the award winners are determined by the Parkers team of experienced reviewers. Praised for real-world range, comfort and an impressive standard equipment list, the EV9 held its own in a busy category that included both ICE- and EV-powered seven-seaters. This latest award follows a successful few years for Kia’s EVs at the Parkers New Car Awards, with the EV6 previously being named ‘Best Large Family Car’ for 2024 and ‘Best Large Electric Car’ for 2023.

Keith Adams, Editor of Parkers said: “Kia played a blinder with the EV9. It’s as comfortable and well-equipped as a Range Rover, but it costs about half as much. To sweeten the deal, it’s built on the Hyundai Group’s industry-leading EV platform which means it has a real-world range of around 300 miles and charge times that are almost as convenient as refuelling a petrol car. It's also packed with party tricks, such as a bi-directional charging function. Such tech allows you to use a portion of the car’s battery capacity to power laptops and camping gadgets on the move using the three-pin sockets in the cabin. That’s great for keeping your kids entertained on long family trips.”

Paul Philpott, President & CEO, Kia UK Limited commented: “It’s great to add another award to the EV9’s trophy cabinet. The EV9 is an incredibly important car for Kia and we’re delighted to see it recognised in such a hotly competitive category. Fending off not just fully electric, but also established petrol and diesel rivals, this award is a true testament to the EV9’s versatility and family-centric approach.”

Since its launch in late 2023, the EV9 continues to impress with its range of up to 349 miles (WLTP Combined)* on a single charge, spacious interior, and vast equipment list. The EV9, available as a six- or seven-seater, represents a significant step forward in Kia’s plan to have launched 15 EVs globally by 2027, which started with the launch of the EV6 in 2021. The larger sibling to the upcoming Kia EV3, the EV9 is priced from £65,025, (on your exclusive military KIA discounts the EV9 starts at £57,753.15 - Oct 2024) on-the-road and available in three grades: ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’ and range-topping ‘GT-Line S’.
